Aaron Ike Isaacson joined the U.S. Army after Sept. 11, 2001. He deployed to Iraq in 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2020. He deployed to Afghanistan in 2008 and 2009 embedded with the Afghan National Army conducting combat operations along the Pakistan border. He also served as a diplomat at the U.S. Embassy in Yerevan, Armenia.

Ike began sailing in 2000 and has been sailing in different locations around the globe ever since. He has competed in sailing regattas in San Diego, CA, Newport, RI, and Cape Town, South Africa. He has also sailed the southwestern coast of Africa, the Black Sea, the Indian Ocean, Morocco, the Caribbean, and the Red Sea.

Ike was on the reality show “Expedition Impossible” on the ABC network competing with blind mountaineer Erik Weihenmayer. He was also in the film “High Ground” with a group of wounded and injured veterans from the Iraq and Afghanistan wars as they reached the summit of Mt. Lobuche in Nepal. He has also reached the summits of Mt. Elbrus in Russia, Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, Mt. Ararat in Turkey, Mt. Aragats in Armenia among a few others.
