Whitney Curtin

Whitney

Whitney began sailing as a young child on the waters off Long Island, New York, and Newport, Rhode Island. After beginning with dinghies on Napeague Bay, he received his first introduction to big boat sailing at age 9 while racing in the 12 Metre Class, which raced in the America’s Cup from 1958 to 1987. His passion for the water remained a constant throughout his upbringing, during which he continued to sail both competitively and recreationally.

After college Whitney turned his passion for being on the water into a profession. He has worked in the yachting industry for over a decade, and in that time has been involved in a number of racing campaigns. Prior to joining Sail To Win, Whitney competed for 7 seasons with Bella Mente Racing, where he oversaw the yacht’s systems and was a floater on the water.

Whitney has joined Sail To Win as the boat captain and bowman. His expertise is critical for leading the boat and training wounded veterans as we navigate the open waters.
